Socket A Motherboard question

hi guys, i was just wondering if there were any socket A mobos that had 4 ram slots as i can only find any with 3 slots. (intend to 4x512mb run in dual channel mode)

The only one's that i can think of that had 4 slots were the Via chipset kt33's and kt400's i think. You won't find any NF2's with 4 slots. If you need to run with 2gigs then why not just use 2 one gig sticks.

The Ballistix 512's are very good stuff as well, i can see why you would want to use 4 of them. They hav'nt got the tendency to die, like the 1024 sticks.

yeah hehe. i just did a bit more digging though and found this:

My old Gigabyte board has 4 slots and that's an NF2.. Only supports 3GB though.

GA7n400E-L is the model, just a dirt cheap one.

yeah im only looking to put 2gb in plainly for playing bf2. ill be doing a proper upgrade in around 12 months time i think

know anyone where i can pick one of these boards up other than that auction site?

You would be best googling. Unless someone can link you to a site that sells what you want and only stuff that OcUK DOES NOT stock. They would be in breach of a rather strictly enforced rule concerning acceptable forum use. ie
linking to competetors.

There are hundreds of etailers, google and you will find

OcUK does not stock socket A motherboards as far as im aware but i take your point. any link is likely to be to a competitor. either way my intentions are not malicious and arent intended to steal trade from OcUK so if it came across that way i apologise! but if anyone wants to PM me somewhere with stocks of these then that would be great

I have one laying on my dining room table. Rules are strict on this sort of thing outside M&M so email me and we'll sort it out.
It has 4 slots for sure but i ran 2x 1gig sticks in it. I stil have the box and manual aswell.
