Heya, this might be a really stupid question but just wanna make sure I don't screw up a working comp ><

Basically running an old socket A machine at the minute, and everything is starting to reach the end of it's life - Northbridge fan is making a racket every so often (will grab a Zalman Passive one).

But also it means my heatsink is running warm and Im not sure why other than the fan might be going (50-59 ish on a reboot after playing AoC for about an hour (and spending all morning instaling/updating it :().

So not running too cool, however you can't seem to find good Socket A heatsinks for love nor money. So could I jsut say, stick a 60mm Delta case fan and replace the fan I have at the minute or are they not designed for it?

Don't wanna end up melting the fan chassis to heatsink or worse destroying a working CPU.

** It's not dust or airflow etc got an Eclipse Case and all the cables are outta the way, and hovered/blasted all the dust out the fins on the heatsink and used Arctic Silver thermal paste **

Cheers

if you're heatsink can take it try zip tying a 80/92/120 fan to it.

otherwise check google the socket a coolers are still out there.

This, you can still get Thermalright SLK-800Us.

Stick a decent 80mm fan on that and you'd be great :)
