Unfortunately, you can't just trickle out a driver update for CPUs the way that you can for GPUs, or it would be a possibility. I'm pretty sure that when it comes to CPUs, what you see is what you get, and what we're seeing is £180 Core Duo E6400s spanking £700+ FX-62s.

I would also like to point out that it also "spanks" the £740 Pentium D Expensive Edition........ just to be fair you understand

Just a question....what the hell is Reverse HyperTransport :p

Same as the Inquirer's reverse hyperthreading, according to their definitions. I think it's safe to say that neither will happen any time in the near future.

Well, it's like this. Transport is about moving something. In this case, data. Hyper is above, or too much. So what reverse hypertransport is is obvious. The moving of data is done so quickly that the electrons in the wires exceed the speed of light and therefore travels backwards in time (reverse) and arrive before they left. This removes the need for caching completely, as the time gained by reverse hypertransport more than offsets the time lost by having to fetch from main memory. As a result, so much die space is saved that 16-core CPUs are possible on a 90nm fabbing.

I have just scooped the Inquirer. You read it here first.
