Socket blanking plates?

I’m moving several sockets (3 doubles + 2 singles).

a couple of them will have connections in them to extend the cables.

I’m looking for a plate that screws to the patress box that I can them skim quickly with some filler.

does such a thing exist? What would I search for? My Google / eBay skills have failed me so far!
 
Doubt this will exist as you can just use a bit of plasterboard over it stuck in with some dot dab adhesive or similar, and use no maintenance connections such as crimps/shrink or Wagos inside a box.

got some wagos on the way(-go?).

my patress boxes are not recessed that far, about 6mm so the plaster board will protrude a bit? I guess if I cut a hole for the screw ears it will go and then as you say use some dot dab adhesive.

I still think a blank plate would be much easier :p and if faffing in the future will be easier to access contents… worst case I’ll grab some thin ply

You planned to skim over it either way so neither way is maintenance free to access, you make a mess either way :p

I'd stick to plasterboard, a bit of ply will likely cause the skim to crack i'd think, as it'll have some natural movement with moisture levels. A bit of PB you can just bang over the backbox and it'll deform around the ears etc :)

that makes sense. I also have some pb on hand.
 
Do you need to move them? Can you not leave them connected and have the new sockets as a spur or inserted into the ring?

just remember you can’t just use the wagos for a maintenance free connection by themselves you also have to also use the special junction box i.e. see linked video.

Bearing in mind you need to show where you are using extensions, particularly for electrics, I doubt they're around
 
If you can do this it would be better. Cabling ran in walls is only meant to be placed on certain prescribed zones. So other trades know where buried cables are likely to be. If you remove a socket you also remove it's prescribed zone.

They are not all mains. Only 2 doubles. They were installed at 1.2m off of the floor, which is far too high any way.

the ring drops down from the ceiling enters the first socket then loops to the left into the next socket (70mm away) and then back up to the ceiling. The cables are actually above the double socket that’s getting put in so is in a “zone”…. If it was a single, it wouldn’t work!

using wago’s I’m joining the ring together and dropping a single spur to a single double socket further down the wall. I have now ordered the appropriate wago box for “mf” install.

I’m going to take out the metal back box and dig out some more concrete block to fit the wago box…. Surely they can design a box that would fit in a 35mm back box?!?
