The past couple of days i've been getting Socket Error 10004 when trying to conntect to usenet via my newsreader. Now i know my newsreader and account work ok as i've tried them on my other home pc and they work fine.

Not sure why this is happening as i've not touched anything.

I'm using windows microsoft server 2003 and was hoping someone might know how to fix this please as i'm pulling my hair out trying to fix it.

I went into tcp/properties and tried using opendns thinking this might be a dns issue but that still didn't work?.

Please can someone help me:confused:

Thanks.

Have you applied any updates to the server in the last few days?

MS states that the reason for this error message is that WSACancelBlockingCall was made but this is no longer supported. No idea if that's the cause of the problem TBH. Also check to see if there's been an update for the newsreader client.
