Hi guys,

so I have some old e-machines motherboards lying about and was just checking up on the chipset on the board which is a Celeron 1.8 (single core, what a beast).

Was just wondering if this socket has any dual-core processors?

Thanks

Rb

Im assuming old desktops so that would be the old p4 chips. There were dual core p4's but they were socket 775 im pretty sure.

Those are mobile chips (socket P?) Ive got one still powering my trusty 4 yr old laptop. same number of socket pins but incompatible due to diff layout. Not sure whether they even physically fit either but yeah they wont work with the old desktop 478 socket.

Ohh thats a shame =/ Thanks anyways,

And Emlyn that's what I was planning on doing but some of the next door neighbours kids are interested in computers and after they saw all of my kit they wanted in, So I promised I'd do my best to put something together from all the junk I have,

As slow as single core is, it'll have to do =P
