Just need a quick check. My mate has 2 PC's one is playing up. The PC playing up (PC 1) has a LGA775 (FC-LGA6) processor. His other PC (PC 2) has a LGA775 (FC-LGA4) processor.
Will it be ok to swap the processor from PC 2 to PC 1?
Ok the PC that is playing up and has the LGA775 (FC-LGA6) processor is a custom built PC. It has an Asus P5VD2-VM motherboard with the latest BIOS update. Here is a link to the supported CPU's
The older PC that is working ok and has the LGA775 (FC-LGA4) processor is a prebuilt Dell. It is a Dell dimension 5150 and has a 0WG261 motherboard.

Ah I have realised I have been missing important information. My apologies. I have just posted about socket types and not mentioned what each processor is.
The processor in the Dell is a Pentium 4 3.40GHz
The custom built PC has a core 2 duo something. I don't have access to that PC at the moment.
So thinking about it I doubt an old Dell motherboard will be able to handle the core 2 duo.
