" SocketXctl " Problem

Right, heres my problem, the last few days, i been gettin the error, i dont have a clue what it is, and also my " slave " hard drive keeps goin missin, and i had to restart my pc to get it back, but after half hour or so, its gone again?
i have taken a screen shot of what it says at start up

Sorry if this in the wrong place, but it looks like windows fault?

A quick Google for SocketX.OCX gets these results.

Might be a good idea to do a full scan for adware/spyware/virus.

right.. sorry to bring this back up.. but i got rid of the DNS error, but now my harddrive keeps failin because of it.
this is the error i get:
