Soft Shutter Release buttons

Hi guys. I collected a brand new silver Fujifilm X100Vl today and before I use it I'm now buying a few accessories. I can't decide if I prefer a concave or convex shutter release button. For just under £10 I can buy a two pack of gold brass concave,

or this convex one with knurled silver and a soft brown centre but that only comes with one button.

My feeling is that convex would probably feel better under the finger but perhaps the brass looks a bit cooler and comfortable enough? Any opinions from experience?

I have both types and, while I currently use neither, I much prefer the concave option.

I can’t quite put my finger on it (pun very much intended) but it just feels much nicer to use than the convex button.

Thanks. Ok the brass concave was the one I had put in the basket earlier and then deliberated on, but I'll stick with that. There's another brand that comes as a concave three pack, one in silver, one black and one brass. That would be fun to change colours when I fancy but I'm not sure of the quality.

The quality does differ although you’d wonder why for such a small trinket.
I bought a couple off eBay and they kept coming loose and falling out. But then I got a SmallRig one (I think it came with a bag or something) and it is excellent. Very premium feel and tight as a drum. FWIW it’s red.

Another vote for concave here. A very small o-ring or rubber washer stops them from coming loose and some buttons are supplied with them.

Concave will look to move you finger away from centre, whilst convex keeps it central. Even if very subtle that will be why there is normally preference to convex - stability.

You might want to re-read and edit one of those convexes......
