software and games etc that are good for kids

my 2 girls are 8 and 6, i have just set up a pc for them to use when they want but i wil restrict the use of it so they stil get outside and play.

anyway im looking for advice on what addictive games my kids would love and what websites are great for them to get educated and have fun, so is there any software, games and websites that you recommend i try for my kids

i have mp3 music, divx videos, karaoke, movies, music videos which they enjoy using and the websites they visit so far is cartoon network and bratz but its more to play with the wee games on the website.

I know this isn't probably that helpful, but browse through e.g. gamestation or zone. They usually have lots of boxes on their shelves for children who are that old, e.g. games compendiums etc.
