HI there

OcUK obviously sells a small range of software that mainly includes operating systems and some anti-virus.

What other well known high demand software would you like to see us offering?

Nero is a good one to sell but I think a little more variety on multimedia software would be nice. Photoshop would also be a welcome addition to the range.

Games would be nice but it would be so hard to offer them at the rates other places can. (Mebbe O_o)

I think they used todo games not 100% sure but i think its hard to be competitive in games (both range and prices) when you have sites dedicated to selling games online and also causes drama in the gaming forums as you obviously wont be allowed to mention those dedicated games websites.
As for new suggestions i think what ocuk has currently is fine its all you really need when building a new PC and now most/a lot of software is downloaded instead of bought on CD/DVDs

get rid of norton antivirus :p bring in a better range of antivirus's and bring a selection of competition in games. I mean ocuk, if you can beat prices guess where people will be gettin their games from ;) ...

EDIT... but you shouldn't stop games talk on the forum just because you sell the games as many people have gaming talk. Thats what most people use their pc for on here I think. Judging by all the specs.

They used to do games iirc, but I'm not sure if its a good move. How do you compete with the competitors who have constantly got specials sales going on? It's not as easy as most would think.

Look at the stuff you sell Gibbo. Anti Virus and Security packages would be a good thing to look at. AV's like Nod32 for example are always widely touted here as a good reliable scanner. Norton's isn't bad but most home users with a clue will avoid it for less intrusive, bloated alternatives.

Defragmentation tools could be worth looking at. Diskeeper and O&O Defrag are top defraggers.

Drive Image software like Ghost, Photoshop and a better selection of Anti virus like McAfee Professional Products. :)

I would say Any that you can use your buying power to get your members a cheaper deal on.
Simple as really. Oc is a market leader, use that to kick manufacturers in the sacks concerning prices then offer them to your members.
You can use these as kind of loss leaders to suck in new customers aswell.
Either by purchasing hardware or being a member should give you access to exclusive cheap kick in the sacks deals.
Would give all the feeling of being looked after and also open the door for cheaper deals for us.

Games.
No way if it will effect the Massive gaming community on here in a negative way. I.E. restricted heads up and mentions on other cheaper deals.
With games it's about getting the cheapest deal and having it on the Actual day of release.
Perhaps not day of release games. Old titles at bargain prices etc. Not that old odviously but say 1 month after release. Then the gaming community here can give an indication on whether the game is actually worth stocking. Also the threads etc will indicate how popular the game is long term.

With not competing with day of release sales this should make heads up on deals a viable option so as not to effect the community.

Just my 10cents.

A few software titles as mentioned above e.g. like Photoshop, which appear to be a popular choice on these forums. Otherwise vitals like operating systems etc which you already have. I think that other specialist programs would be a good idea, those that people use for their degree's etc.

I wouldn't like to see games because (I don't play them lol), and also because I don't think you'd sell that many. I get the impression people come to the website for the hardware not the games themselves. Plus I don't think you'd be competetive against e.g. Virgin or HMV.

The nVidia DVD/Purevideo decoder would be an idea. A competitor sells it & you can't buy it direct from nVidia in the UK so it's pretty hard to get hold of easily.

Finally! Good move Gibbo, been looking for a good place on the internet to buy software

I would like to see:
1) Games
2) All Microsoft products (Office etc)
3) Loads of different Security software (Spyware, Firewall, Anti-Virus etc)
4) maintenance programs (Diskeeper etc)
5) Image editing programs (Photoshop, PSP etc)
6) CD/DVD software (Nero etc)
