Software for booking community center

I am asking for a friend.
He does the bookings for the local community center.
At the moment, he uses a spreadsheet, this contains the bookings that have regular slots, for example, Bingo on a friday afternoon in room 2 and as thats regular, it stays in, but then there is the one offs or not so regulars, and I am wondering if anyone knows of any software that can do what he needs it to?

It needs to be disgustingly simple so that it literally takes him a few seconds to enter any changes, and also he is most definitely NOT computer savvy.

Outlook calendar with colour codes for the different rooms?

Google calendar has a resources scheduler for rooms etc but not sure if you have to be a Google Apps type user to get that functionality.

Just thought I would update you.

He came to me today with a Laptop, and he was using Outlook Calender.

He took in a few optiond, do thsnkd fopr those, but after some trials and wot not, he found Outlook did EXACTLY what he wanted it to.

Its great, he also showed me that he can select things like we have our meetings on the first teusday of every month, and he only made one entry with the info and viola... We knew the dates of all the meetings.

Brilliant.
