Hi i have tonight got freeview on my PC using a DVB USB dongle.

The Compro software will not pick up all the channels and is missing all the BBC and some others.

So i im using WMC which has picked up every single channel which is great but i cant resize the window to fit on half of one side of the screen, and can only window the screen in one corner. I would like some DVB software that will allow me to window half the screen when using WMC for live TV.

WMC will not let you resize the window for half of the screen for some reason, this is what happens when you try and drag to WMC

So im after some software other than WMC and the rubbish bundled Compro software?

What other DVB software can i use?

Thanks in advance.

VLC can do it but you'd have to set up all manually.

you can setup a a file so you can open channels in a playlist but it's not easy, you need a channels.conf that can be made in linux with dvb-scan, also i couldn't get it to work in VLC 2.0 only 1.1

in VLC open up 'capture device' and in capture mode you should see DVB Directshow device.
DVB Type: DVB-T
for frequency http://www.ukfree.tv is a good place to look them up. you need to change from Mhz to khz.
BBC for me is 745.8Mhz so 745800 khz
Bandwidth is 8Mhz
then click play

from the menu/playback/programme should list all the channels on that mux.

You can resize wmc manualy you know pulling at the corners of the window. Just because it doesnt do it for you is no reason not to use it as it will remember your size setting ;)

Have you tried downloading the latest compro software as they update quite often. I never had any trouble with mine, but there is a search speed setting to make it take forever to find channels like wmc.
