Hi,

I sit next to this guy at work and it's tempting me to start remixing at first, then would like to make some sort of attempt at my own tune, just for my own entertainment really.

What software would come recomended for a novice, as Ramdom Geeza uses expensive software aimed at profesionals no doubt. I just want to add in some break and beats, pluse maybe some melodic stuff if i'm feeling breave into some old tunes for now. Trance / House is what i'm interested in.

I have got fruity loops but that about it!

Cheers.

I have spent a good few hours on my first tune now... it's probably about 5% ready! Using FL Studio 6 XXL so far. It's taking ages because i'm learning how to use the software as i go.

I'm proud for my first tune ever (thats probably just me!).. Don't know weather to post a clip or wait until it's a little more finished!

another vote for ableton here, awsome stuff, but tbh you should try them all, i've used cubase, ableton etc and always find one better at this or that, and tbh i always come back to cubase for everything but that is because its what suits me best.
