Software for timestamping videos

Hi guys,

Someones asked me to put date/timestamps on a load of videos so its easier for them to know which are which, they only have a tablet so its easier for them to see on the video.

Has anyone got any recommendation of any good apps for this? They have tried a few android ones but they always look like weird fonts apparently rather than like a proper camera/camcorder.

Im not into this kind of thing so any recommendations are appreciated.

Better to rename them.

To timestamp on the video itself would require you to re-encode every video. Unless it did it via a subtitle file. Then you could just re-mux it instead.
