Hi all,

at work we're replacing ALL our phones and contracts, from O2 to Orange.
We're keeping the same numbers the transfers are being sorted.
I will have 30 blackberrys to apply to BESX, 6 iphones to put onto exchange and about 56 standard phones.
Now, most of these will undoubtedly have some data on them that the user will want to keep.
Seeing as we're changing sim cards the phone users will need to copy their sim contacts to their pc.
Existing blackberry users should be able to save them as outlook contacts and they will then sync with outlook, but they may still have data like, photos etc on their existing device.

So....is there some software that can be installed on a pc and when a phone/blackberry/smart phone is connected you can then copy all relevent data from sim and/or phone memory onto pc storage?

I have a mammoth task of just applying the 30 blackberrys to BESX, when they take a min of 15 mins each.

Thanks for any help offered.

Yeah, going from old Nokia 6230i to new Nokia C2 and C3 phones.
I assumed that their pc connectivity software would do the trick.
The other option if it works would be to insert the old O2 sim into the new orange C2 and C3 and if it accepts the sim then i can copy the contacts to the phone. BUT, it's rarely that simple. :S

edit: as for the iphones that should be fairly straightforward. Configuring them on Exchange 2007 is a breeze. Maybe i can save their sim contacts as outlook contacts (like the blackberry) and it will sync that way too.

Thanks Myshra, very helpful post.

Lol......sooooo true.

So i take it that the standard nokia software that comes on cd with the new phone will do what we need then?
What i may do in that case, is setup a separate workstation with the software installed and allow users to go up to it, connect their phone and do the do themselves.

Personally, try one of these for the sim contacts.

Used one in one of my past jobs where everyone changed from Vodafone to T-Mobile. Was superb.

As far as photos and such. I'd advise that if they are not for business usage then it's the users responsability to save them or lose them.

Thanks Sharlow.
Personal stuff, yeah, their issue. However some do take site photo's that are work related.
