Software similar to Locksmith?

Just got back from Rwanda, rebuilt my computer....

Cant remember my bloody password :mad:

I had a disk ... in Rwanda that had locksmith on it, but guess where i left it!

Is there any freeware software that i can use to reset my password?

boot in to safe mode then type (control userpasswords2) in to run without the brackets then find the account in there and reset the password

When on the 'welcome' screen press CTRL+ALT+DELETE (I think you need to press it twice), a 'classic' login box should come up (IIRC). Enter Administrator as the username and hope that there's no password on it

Strangly, when the log on screen appeared it was already on the classic 'Enter a name and Password' screen. Unfortunately the Administrator isn't blank

The one I use if I need to recover a password is ERD Commander, but I can't find any proper trial download links to that as Microsoft bought out the people who made it

ERD Commander cannot detect an OS

Maybe because my hdd's are set up as RAID? Bugger!

Hmm, yes, RAID might have thrown it off due to ERD not having RAID drivers.
