Software to add missing EXIF picture taken

Hi guys,

Is there any freeware out there that can copy the date created/modified from a picture and add into the picture taken field?

I have hundreds of photos that are either old, have an incorrect date or no date at all where I'd like the correct date range being added in.

I've found some paid for software but wondering if there's any freeware out there?

IfranView offers "Lossless JPG rotation, crop and EXIF date change (also in batch mode)" and might work although I can't say that I have ever tried it.
