Software to capture & record sound?

Thanks for looking. I'm seeking recommendations for applications that can capture & record sound that's playing on the computer, so I can record some quotes from films. :)
 
don't suppose you have nero already installed? because that has an app called "nero wave editor" bundled with it that'll do the job. failing that audacity is a bit of freeware that should do the same.....

edit: also open your volume control, goto options, properties, change the "adjust volume for" option to "recording" and make sure the "wave" option is selected. :)

Windows Xp has Sound Recoder, all you need to do is goto your little speaker at the bottom of the tast bar, go to advanced settings and set it to what you hear, you can then hear the sounds coming via your computer + talk over it using the mic

Also a prog called Camista works
