Software to convert DVDs to play on MP3 player?

Hi,

Any good and free software to convert legally owned DVDs into something my Sony NWZ818 will be happy with? I suppose I want something which also reduces the file size too.

Any thoughts?

I'd hit sourceforge.net and see what you can find, there's lots of format coverter apps popping up there all the time...and they're free

Encoding to Avi/mpeg will reduce the filesize in itself so no worries there.

Not Free http://www.dvdfab.com/ but comes with a 30 day trail, I used it to convert to my ZEN Vision M (60gb) and my sisters Walkman worth a look!

You could use this to convert to mpeg, then AoAExtractor which is freeware and can convert video to mp3
