Some help please

I need to convert some mpeg and wmv files to MP4 to view them on my Nokia 5310 phone. The software that came with the phone will NOT convert them and I’ve been advised to convert them first and then try transferring them.

Does anyone know of some free, simple, small and easy-to-use software that will convert such files?

My operating system is Windows XP
