Software to create a disk image - Vista 64

When a built my multimedia PC a few years ago I installed 2 x 500Gb WD HDDs. The 'D' drive has failed and lost all the data but, luckily (in some senses) it was the backup drive so I've not lost anything. What I now want to do is change the 'C' drive as a precaution but I do not want to do a complete reinstall. Instead, I want to back-up a disk image and then copy the image to the new disk, which may or may not be the same capacity.

Does anyone have a suggestion for software, compatible with Vista64, that will do the job?

I use Acronis True Image, they did do a free trial.

Acronis True Image or Disk Director both great for HDD cloning etc.

Clonezilla.

Bootable iso image, completely separate from your OS, perfect for what you need.

True Image is also bootable, However CloneZilla is free Never used it but guess its worth A try. We love free software!

Well I've used Clonezilla to successfully backup and restore my OS when playing with my netbook, so I can recommend it

There's also PING. Backed up & restored a laptop when playing with Windows 8, worked perfectly.

Macrium reflect gets my vote.

The only issue I have with macrium is that you cannot restore multiple partitions at once, which can cause issues.
