Software to diagnose hardware issue?

My pc has gone super slow. I'm sure it's a hard drive issue as loading wma website once chrome is open is fast, loading photos on Facebook easy, but loading photos stored in the device is about 10 minutes task.

What software can I get to try diagnose the issue?

Who made the drive? Do they have diagnostic software available (WDC and Seagate definitely do)?

How would I find out without having access to the pc? I'd be remote access to this one

Device manager will provide the drive's model number. Google will do the rest.

I think you can check online tool free of cost who can easily detect your pc configuration and check pc issues as well. Through this, you can easily sort out your system issues.

It sounds like you've diagnosed it already. Swap it for an SSD and then wonder why you didn't do it before.
