software to download podcasts automatically, without itunes?

hi,
is there any way to download podcasts automatically?

ive found some on itunes like the drum and bass arena, and few others (through the itunes app on iphone) but i rarely load up itunes (its sooo slow). is there any program that can download them or something?

I've used Juice but iTunes still has the edge, largely due to the directory service it offers and the way it makes use of all of the metadata in the feed. I have yet to find anything that comes close to iTunes, most of the software out there works fine but always lack a good interface.

The name for this type of software is a 'podcatcher' or 'podcast aggregator'.

It's quite basic but I like Primetime Podcast Receiver to grab all my podcasts - doesn't use too many resources and is quick to load. I don't tend to search thru directories to find further podcasts, and just copy them straight over to my phone to listen to once downloaded, so don't really need anything more bloated/complicated
