Software to ensure 2nd hand PC Components work

I have seen an Ad in a paper for a 2nd hand PC:

Intel Core i7 920 2.66Ghz
MSI X58 platnum motherboard
6GB 16000MHz DDR3 Corsair Memory
Zotac GTX 285
Coolmaster HAF 932
Coolmaster 1000w Modular PSU
Sony 22x Dual Layer LightScribe DVDRW
Seagate 500Gb 7200 32Mb Harddrive

this is being sold for £800, but has no warranty for any of the parts is there any software that I can run to test the components in the machine? and is there anything else i should look for?

You could build a machine brand new for nearly that amount.

When i spoke to him he said the online store he brought it from went into liquidation, he says he not sure how the warranty works out on individual parts

When I spec that in overclockers more or less the same parts came up to about £1400 but maybe your right it to dodgy
