once again i have a problem with Firefox in that it keeps freezing, sometimes it's just a few seconds, sometimes 30 seconds, sometimes it will freeze and not come back without ctrl alt del then ending program.

now noticed this is almost always when going to sites playing videos such as you tube, when the video starts playing it freezes, though very rarely it may also be when starting up the browser.

this happened before and only solution i found was to remove Firefox completely, delete and recognition of it and start again, but it's back now and that solution takes a while to get extensions back so would like to find a possible other solution

what i was wondering is if there is some software that perhaps would monitor exactly what my computer is sending out. I ask because i just feel it may be some sort of spy ware (though 2 spy ware checkers finding nothing) that is within Firefox and sending what i am doing out.

I would say it is not firefox itself, but the Flash Plugin acting up. Try reinstalling Flash or updating the plugin.

I have had a few issues since installing VLC Media Player, so I am going to remove that as I have definately noticed a slow down.

If it is not actually in firefox you will need to go into Add/Remove Programs and reinstall flash. So download the latest version.

I uninstalled VLC Media Player last night and my Firefox problems went away completely.

Been planning to do this as well as i suspect its the result of my problems. Might give mplayer on windows a proper trial, works flawlessly on Arch
