Software to play HDV in XP?

What software will play HDV video in windows xp? I've tried media player but it doesn't want to know :(

Just that I got a video from dangerous a while ago and completely forgot about it. Its HDV or something and while he said you need a decent pc to play it my opty shouldnt struggle so it must just be missing codecs in mp10 then? Cheers for the reply orifice :)
