software to protect computer from virus and hacks

I recently had some personal details/credit card used without me knowing

i got a feeling it could be from my computer, well i'm not 100% sure but its still kind of worrying.
Anyone recommend me with any software/programes that are good protecting from virus and hacks etc.
I am currently using Bitdefender Interent security and Malwarebytes, not sure if they are that good and doing what its meant to be.

I have previously tried AVG, Avast few years ago and now using Bitdefender 2012.
Is AVG better then Bitdefender? or they just the do the same?

Microsoft Security Essentials + Windows Firewall.

There is no such thing as been 100% secure. If you download, go on sites or open emails from people you don't know then you have a high risk of some problems.
