Hi guys,

A few files on my system have dual audio tracks, ie. two languages. I only need the one so is there an easy way of doing this?

Cheers,
Mike.

virtualdubmod
virtualdub
one of these will allow you to 'disable stream' then just set the video and audio as 'direct stream copy'

Worked like a charm. Well, took a few goes before I remember to select direct stream copy for the video as well ;) Cheers buddy.

cool

which one worked?, i can never remember which one has the streams selection..

virtualdub is far newer and better, but there's a few things that mod can do that vdub can't

.bledd, seeing as you were so quick to help with my last request... I have one more, if anyone may know the answer. I have a few .mkv files (I understand it is a container file aye) but I want to strip them and simply have the file as an avi. Surely there has to be a really quick way of converting them to avi, without having to re-encode?

Cheers!

Excellent, you guys are legends. What about from .mkv to .wmv? I imagine this is longer and more time consuming? Or is there a quick way for that too?

If the content in the mkv is encoded as vc-1 you should be able to mux it to wmv, the audio might need reencoding though. I think the program is called asf muxer. I don't know what other codecs wmv supports though.

Thanks buddy. Will check it out when I get home :)
