Software to wipe everything permanently from the hdd?

Im selling a hdd and need to get all personal info off it etc, whats the best program to use to wipe the hdd with?

Only one I know of is Windows Washer. I have absolutely no idea if it is still around or how good it is.

You could just use the HDD tools from your manufacturer and have it zero-fill your HDD a few times? Not sure how effective this is but I couldn't recover some files when I accidently zero-filled part of my harddrive once :rolleyes:

Killdisk is a handy utility for this...

It doesn't actually kill the disk either!

I just use the Western Digital drive tool to write 0's to the drive. If your really paranoid, you could run it multiple times on the drive to make sure no one is getting at your files.

google a program called deap delete, that will do it. Its free open source as far as im aware.
