My roof only faces one direction, which is to the east, it'll get good exposure to the sun in the mornings but hardly anything when it starts going over.

Not sure if I went down the solar roof I'd actually benefit much. Something to look into a bit more I think.

A roof facing directly east with a 35 degree angle will produce around 80% of a south facing roof. So it's very worth it. A 5kW east facing system would still produce nearly 4000kWh per year in your location.

Any decent installer will model it for you, no harm in getting someone in to review your options. I have a 6kWp East facing system and I would say it’s very worth while.
