So i've not been up to date with the latest on solar panels.

Last I heard the government subsidies were decreasing and the cost still high.

However, my dads place is running a bill of close to £2000 a year (I grow drugs) (jk).

How does this change things given the steep size of the bills? Pay off quicker given the size of the bills? Obviously the big saving may be on the bills themselves rather than selling back to the power companies.....

Just looking for general input...

Well depending on your income you can get help with the panels.

A few in my area has had some in and and did not pay much given the help out sceam's, They are not paying as much as 2k a year but they do help on the bill's.

They've fallen in price a lot. First with Tesco around 7k and now with ikea at 5k (but very limited area at the moment).
Almost certainly worth it, however it depends on where you live, which direction and what angle your roof is facing.
And do you use a lot of electricity during the day? Im guessing so, as you save more money by using the electricity rather than selling it back to the grid. As they buy it back of you at a much lower rate than they sale it back to you at.

Best off doing some reading and more importantly using an online calculator. Making sure it takes into account, location, direction, roof angle and how much electricity you use during the day.

Over the long term they are worth it for most people, just depends if you can afford the outlay.
