just bought mass effect 2 from grainger games and when i got it home it had a sticker on saying "bundle product, only to be sold as part of a hardware package"

should i take it back or does it not really matter?

I got one of these when I bought some wrestling game for the 360, I think you can still trade it in at gamestation, game and theres nothing different compared to the retail.

Me personally I would take it back. When I have tried to sell a game which mentions not to be sold seperate I have been told they will not buy it because of it. Depends really if you may want to re-sell it at a later stage?

As long as you got the Cerberus code inside it, I don't think I'd be bothered. ME2 is great, you probably won't want to sell it anyway in anticipation of playing it again before ME3 comes out.

I'd take it back. I wouldn't expect a bag of crisps that I bought to say multipack only and I wouldn't expect it on a game I bought either - unless it was substantially cheaper than the normal packaging version.
There's no real difference, it's just the principal of it.

i will probably trade it at some point but im more worried it wont have the codes inside. if i take wrapper off to find out then they might not take it back as new

Might be a bit of a pain but I would take it back, best to make sure. As once that seal is broken I doubt they will give you your money back.

I know someone who tried to part-ex a wii game into game. It was part of a microphone bundle but they were just trying to part-ex the game in. They scanned the barcode and just said it's imcomplete and didn't want it.

thought that might be the case. too late now i guess, ive opened it. seems fine, has the cerberus codes in so its all good. apart from the trade in value.

they are defeinitley pulling a fast one though as there is no bundle i can find containing mass effect 2 other than the console bundle that was an austraila exclusive. as austrailia are the same region code i guess they could have imported them:confused:

Australia has a different looking game rating logo, that would be the giveaway. It's a large rectangle, half of which is the rating and the other half is the list of potentially dodgy content.

I would have returned it mate simply because your getting ya pants pulled down, although suppose there is no difference.

What was the bundle in aus with a 360?

Both the game stores near me won't accept bundle games for trade-in. However I rarely bother these days as there the biggest pants puller downers around....

At the end of the day the game is fine, play it and sell it here or the bay. However unless you got a good price for it new I wouldn't be frequenting said shop again.

it was £35 quid. pretty much what i would have paid anywhere else

Your sig breaks the rules. You're allowed 1 line of text under a sig.

:)

Does it say not for resale on the disk? My mate printed out a new outer sleeve for a bundled game he had, then traded it in, It did look very convincing though.

Under or above an image, otherwise it's 4 lines.

FAQ

You may also add 1 consecutive lines of normal or smaller text directly above or underneath the image with no spaces inbetween image and text.
If no images are used then up to 4 consecutive lines of normal or smaller text is permitted.
Do not pad out your text lines with blanks lines. A line of text is defined as having a maximum length of 400 pixels.

Seems pretty clear cut to me, those rules indicate 1 line of text. Unless of course his Live tag info bar doesn't count as an image.
