Been using this card myself for around 4 years and not had any problems. For reference its a Sapphire Fury Nitro. Only sold it as OCUK had a pretty good deal on the 5700XT, however the buyer is experiencing some problems on their end and i cant seem to find a solution for them, so hoping some of you might be able to help. This is the message i received:
Unforunately i haven't tested it on Z490, but it worked ok for me on X79 and X370, so im not sure if its potentially a platform issue. this was my response:
This was the second message i received:
Im not really sure what to suggest outside of this, does anyone have any ideas for what to try? Im not too worried about a bait and switch, as there was something on the card that would tell me if this was the case. Admittedly the dead display port is one i never used so have no way of knowing if that was like it from new or if its died over time. The artefacting was never something i really experienced though. Even gave it a Heaven 4 run through to see what temps were like and if there was any problems before selling.
TL;DR - sold a fury pro, fully working on the X79 and X370 systems i used it on. seller is experiencing problems on Z490. suggested to me what seem like the obvious solutions and still no joy, stuck on what else to suggest.
One of the DisplayPorts (the one on its own to one side of the HDMI port) seems to be completely dead. It just displays a black screen before getting into Windows, and when Windows boots it just displays this:

Hard to see, but that's a very corrupted version of the Windows login screen. The two other DisplayPorts seem to work fine in Windows and don't have the same corruption. The same screen whilst using either of those:

However, they seem to have issues outside of Windows. For example, all I see when trying to enter the BIOS is this:

Whilst it displays similar white corruption instead of the motherboard logo and text when entering Windows:

For reference, this is a Z490 board and I've had several other GPUs in there (including a 7970 and 390X from the AMD side) that worked just fine. I can't say for SURE that there's a problem with two of the DisplayPorts (it could be just a compatibility issue since they work okay once inside Windows), but one is definetly dead. I was wondering if you had experienced any of this and/or whether you had it hooked up via DisplayPort or HDMI? I don't actually have a HDMI cable handy to test that port.

The only time i experienced anything like that was when the DP cable wasn't seated properly, however the only two ports i ever used were the left most DisplayPort and the HDMI port: https://imgur.com/a/QHPZhF0
If you have another DisplayPort cable handy, that's the first thing i'd try.
Im not sure but i thought it had a HDMI cable in the box, may be wrong though. One other thing to try is it's a dual bios card, i believe one was for BIOS (light off) and one was for UEFI (light on) if you check the switch position (its near the back, on the side of the card next to the ports) and make sure the light is on. That will cause issues if you're not using the UEFI position on a Z490.
Also I doubt it would make a difference as you're experiencing it before windows loads, but check the drivers are updated. I only ever used the AMD beta drivers, the latest of which is Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.9.1: https://www.amd.com/en/support/grap.../amd-radeon-r9-fury-series/amd-radeon-r9-fury
Other than that i'm not sure what to suggest, unless its a platform specific problem which is unlikely. I used it over 2 different setups, an X79 Intel and an X370 AMD. Let me know if either of these suggestions fix your problem, failing that i'd be happy for you to return the card for a refund, but hopefully it wont come to that and we can get it working for you. Ill have a look around the internet and see if there are any solutions to the issues you're experiencing.

You're right, there is an HDMI cable in the box. Having tested it, it does exactly the same thing as the working DisplayPorts. The BIOS switch on the card was set to UEFI anyway, but I tried the other position and it actually didn't change anything. Still boots and behaves the exact same way. And yeah, I am using the latest drivers, just grabbed them this morning. Unfortunately, I don't have another platform to test it with either. I sold the X79 setup I had around as a backup a couple of months ago.
It's frustrating, as it does seem to work fine on two of the three ports once inside Windows and I could live with switching to my iGPU for accessing the BIOS. The dead port worries me more than anything. It is the one on the opposite end of the card from what you were using, so I guess there's no way to know if something caused it to fail or it was faulty from the factory. I don't really WANT to return it and go back to an iGPU again. I actually just returned a 390X to another seller this morning as it arrived with one of the fans completely busted and a screw missing. It didn't display any of the white corruption pre-Windows though, and that's a card using pretty much the same architecture as this, so I would've thought it would if it's a compatibility issue (but then not necessarily either).
Not sure of what to do right now. I guess I'll think about it.
