Well i had an 8800GTS 640mb, mainly purchased for crysis which has now been pushed back a few months. Well, i thought about it.. and whats the point having a DX10 card, when theres no games which support it yet? I sold my 8800 for close enough to the price i paid for it! I am now the proud owner of a 6200 =]

Few months down the line and there will be all new graphics cards out. What im trying to say is.. if you have a card atm which fits the bill, then dont upgrade to an 8800.. YET.

whats the point?

That will be all =]

I think you have done well imo, since these cards seem to be performing well on DX9.. yet we have no benchmarks yet of DX10 games.

Wait for the R600's see how they do, i think their extra memory will help in DX10 games especially.

8 series are for Dx9, no ones buying the 8 series for Dx10 as its not here yet, and when it is the 8800's are going to be the slowest Dx10 cards you can get, in fact they are the slowest Dx10 cards you can get now, and thats even before they can use it, shoud have waited till Crysis was here before buying a card for it, least you've learnt a lesson there. :)

you don't play any games at present then?

just waiting for crysis?

what card you have before the 8800?

I had a 6800GT which was sold with the old pc.

I play call of duty 2, css, bf2 and 2142, but the 6200 should handle them fine with around 40fps (low settings :P) im sure ill survive

Pity you never bought it for the Dx9 performance, did you just have it sitting in its box collecting dust then while waiting for Crysis.

I downloaded the froggy dx10 demo, which raped the card and gave me about 2fps... which put me off the idea of having the first gen dx10 card so to speak. Id rather wait a few months and get something better

Yeah thats why everyone is buying G80's for Dx9, no point getting em for Dx10, they've been out since November, and Dx10 is still months away yet, i got my card for Dx9, and the performance it gives now, couldn't care less about games like Crysis etc..., as ill get the new faster/better cards for those games when they are here, and least you never lost much on it as well which is good. :)

Why does it matter if no DX10 titles are available yet? Did people buy the A64 for 64-bit apps when it was released... or did they buy it simply because it ran 32-bit apps like a demon and nothing else came close?

Those are rhetorical questions by the way. :D

What he said. Got my card purely for Stalker and and SupCom. By the time Crysis show up, I'll either SLI or get one of the plenty other cheap DX10 cards out.

Oh my god the pressure!

Looked on gamespot and they put The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker as number 1. Going from the pics i'm going to assume it's not that... can't see Link! ;)

Consequently i'm gonna go with my other search hit - 'Call Of Duty'? :o

I suppose it depends on what res your playing your games at more than anything, I'm on 1920x1200 and I would'nt accept nothing less than the 8800gtx to power my currunt batch of DX9 games, DX10 did'nt even enter my brain when I brought this card, I brought this card b-cos it was/is the fasted card out, simple as.
