Hoping someone can help.

Sold my old gpu on ebay and buyer paid via PayPal and received tracking info from me and has very quickly signed and responded to thank me and confirm he's received item.

I've noticed PayPal now holds your funds for several weeks (mid April they're saying to me) unless you provide tracking details on PayPal to prove the item has been received.

I've updated PayPal with tracking info but shows on PayPal as in transit still and also shows on ebay as in transit.

I guess if PayPal doesn't get a message from ebay/tracking number to update to delivered, then I'm reluctantly going to have to wait until mid April ro receive payment.

Seems very floored to be given I've provided all proof possible.
 
Give it a day or two. PayPal are usually quick to react once tracking info is updated their end. Could be something to do with the courier not auto updating their end.
I usually use Royal Mail special delivery and it’s almost instant with PayPal once delivery has taken place.
 
It's not really Paypal that hold the funds, it is ebay. ebay have an arrangement with paypal that they hold on to the funds now until they see the tracking info or no one complains or a certain time has elapsed. Really what you need to do is enter the tracking info in ebay and then usually a single call will sort matters out. You can also open up their new seller account type ( I think it is called a managed account ) with ebay so the funds are directly paid in to your bank. That way you only have to deal with ebay.
 
I have sold a couple of gpus recenty on ebay along with other things and got the money immediately in my paypal account ready to withdraw as soon as the buyer paid, and I didnt give tracking numbers, never had a problem, but then ive had paypal/ebay for years.
If youre not getting this it could be a few different reasons, are you a new ebay member? Have you completed all the security checks in paypal?
Probably worth emailing/calling them.
 
appreciate responses. One possible reason is because I normal have very small transactions and this one was bigger.

I did put tracking info on ebay as soon as I got number but it still shows up on ebay as despatched.

I guess I'll need to email ebay or contact PayPal buy I suspect as said, PayPal wait for the authorisation/confirmation
 
Btw ebay now has straight to bank transfer but they have increased the % to match PP cut from before but if you get a free weekend its worth a punt on Ebay and no hassles with PP keeping the money anymore

I have the same thing happen when I sold an old CPU on there. It was the first thing I've sold on Ebay so not sure if that was the reason.

Same thing happened to me when I sold my old GPU last week.

Once the tracking status has updated to delivered, I just called ebay told them it was delivered, they checked, confirmed it and said no problem funds will be released within 24 hours, and the the funds were released later that evening.
