Soldering an ethernet port to a PCB that already has the location for it?

I got that part, but how is that preferable to using a USB NIC?

I assume faster, and less cost Less to go wrong.

Also... "because". Because I'm a nerd and like to try stuff like this.

FLSUN reached out to me, as they apparently have changed the design for the Ethernet port. Oh lord, lol.

They said they will give me the design of the port. Will see.
