Im looking for a well designed solid laptop - it seems that getting an old macbook pro seems the only option! (I would end up installing Windows 7 on it). Im looking for around £450 (cheaper the better though). Surely the Macbook pro cant be the best option can it? The Dell 15z would be good but too expensive, the Sony E series isnt that solid/well designed.

Anyone got any ideas?

What are you going to use it for?

I love my dell latitude e6520, you could get a lower spec one than mine from the outlet for your budget.

I only paid £471 for my 15z from the Dell Outlet two weeks ago (due for delivery tomorrow).

Not sure how the Macbook Pro can be "the best option", but the cheaper 15z is "too expensive"

Photoshop work, dev work, internet/office apps, some video editing (but minimal)..

The 15z costs £774 at retail.. Thats why I mentioned the Pro the 'best' option.
Where did you find the 15z at that price - would consider at that price.

As I said, the Dell Outlet. All certified by Dell, and come with 12 months warranty as standard.

Basically you just have to keep your eyes open, as the stock on the outlet changes constantly.

The latitude comes with 3 years warranty because it's a business laptop. And I find it much better made than their consumer laptops.
