Just specced up a new composite door on the Solidor site and had a call quoting me £2500 for the door including fitting. Does this sound about right? That's about a grand more than I was expecting. Maybe I'm just out of touch with the cost of these things? Seems a hell of a lot of money for a door :p

I had a Doorco Composite door installed at the beginning of the year, ordered October last year, and that was ~£1500

Well I just configured an identical Solidor door through another third party company and it comes out at £1700.

Anyone heard of timber composite doors?

Solidor installed earlier in the year.
Depends what size, style and door furniture.
We had a door with no glass, full bar handle and narrow full height window on one side. Was around £1500-1700 installed.
They farm out to the installers nearest to you IIRC so get a couple more quotes.

My new quote is broken down as £1100 for the door and £600 installation. Still seems a bit expensive, but much nearer what I expected to pay.

Had a Solidor fitted about 3 months ago, paid £1900 through a local company but that's only 5% VAT, make up is grey external, white internal, 1000 wide door with 2 400 frosted panels either side, main slab has centre vertical window panel and low letterbox, really happy with the door initially up until about 2 weeks ago when the lock appeared to be sticking. Put this down to the door settling so called the fitter out to adjust as I didn't want to play with it in warranty, fitters a good mate and we were both puzzled when the lock reached its maximum adjustment and still stuck, that was until we noticed the bow in the door slab, top to bottom on a 2m straight edge its running out by about 10mm at the centre , local company have been great and just waiting on their own assessor to bounce it back to Solidor for replacement.

We had a Solidor installed in 2014, the one with the 4x small square windows and full length handle and it cost £2500.
We’ve had no problems with it since.

my last new build i bought a composite door from eBay, there is a company in wales who take all the unwanted doors when the specs changed...
cost about 350 and couldn't tell the difference from the Solidor i put in the house before... Apart from the grand i saved...

I was looking at Endurance doors as Solidor seemed to have turned into a cartel. Approx. price for a traditional door with fittings and fixtures was between 1500inc VAT -> £lol 7k from a Safestyle UK type firm.

Do you have a link??
Edit. Misread EBay. Thought might be a cheap supplier and fitter.
