We managed to find a fix for Battlelog issues with the following:
- receiving co-op requests
- starting co-op after sending a request
- joining games with your party
- very delayed chat messages

To fix this we’ve tried opening ports, disabling UPnP, all manner of router troubleshooting. Turns out, it was the anti-virus. Try disabling the web shield feature.

In our particular case it was AVAST’s web shield that was preventing the web content in Battlelog to appear correctly.

Give it a try and let us know if it worked for you.

Just add battlelog.battlefield.com/* to the exclusions in the webshield that should sort the avast problem out, no need to disable it.

Yep, AVAST was my issue as well. Disabling it addressed the problem, but I will try adding that exclusion to my list and see if that works too :)

Thanks Jongo! Good tip.

EDIT: Bad idea. Doesnt work... did you test it out before suggesting it?

Its not just AVAST users being affected, i know VIPRD users were also hit so im sure there are a few more out there.

Regardless, we were lost before so hopefully this gives others the ability to fix the issues.

None of the guys here can seem to get it to work using the exclusion method that Jongo suggested.

We just went back to fully disabling the webshield and its working fine again.

Anyone else find success with disabling the webshield?

I run Avast - was not able to get co-op working at all. Disabling the webshield solved the problem ;) A little annoying and I would rather not have it down all the time, so I just set it to enable again after a reboot, it will do for now I suppose..

This still doesn't fix the trouble that some people get when trying to join friends ingame. My mate hardly ever see's me as playing in a server so no "Join Game" button in the Com Center. Both of us use Avast. both of us have added the exception.

What version are you running? You should have the option to disable temporarily for 10 minutes, which is all it takes to get a game set up...

And @OP, welcome to the second day of beta - that's when I found it and posted in the BF3 thread! But still fair play for posting it up, should help out a lot of people!

The very latest version as far as I am aware (at work so can't check right now). But yes, there was an option to disable it for 10 mins. I just assumed it would knock me out of the game, but if it only needs to be down in order to set up the game, then I'll be happy :)

Nope that's exactly it! So long as the game is up and running, you don't need to worry about any pop-ups :)

I use kaspersky and my mate uses zone alarm an we were having co-op connection issues. Out of 30+ tries, only one has worked :/

I'm with AVG and it dosent work at all, how do I run an exception for BF3 in AVG ?

**edit uninstalled AVG and now running MSE without any issues, thanks!

Yeah, I commented in my post directly above yours, adding the exception does not work. Fully disabling webshield is the only solution we can find.

My guess is that Jongo suggested it before trying it.

Cheers! Yeah makes me laugh when someone asks a question about BF3 and they get directed to the 300 page BF3 thread. Good luck finding the needle.
