Solution to Windows Vista x64 driver signing

http://www.uhlik.sk/?page=swreadydriver

Can anyone tell me in basic english exactly how i do what is shown on that website? Im not too sure how to make the USB bootable(P5k-E if it helps) or what you have todo once it has booted.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks, Ben

I really don't get it. You want to compromise the stability of your system.

Find alternatives to the software and/or complain to the vendor about operating system support.

There is no other realistic solution.

If the driver isn't signed it doesn't support Vista. Period. So you don't want to go installing unsigned crap on Vista because it will destablise your system.

The F8 option to disable code signing is there for developers of device drivers. It is not for joe average consumer to go messing around with.

Patching the kernel to forcefully disable code signing could 1) render your system useless immediately 2) render it useless the next time you install an update from Microsoft 3) invalidate your license of Windows 4) destablise your system 5) open your system to security vulnerabilities.

Dont the vendors have to pay to get drivers signed? If so i can wave goodbye to the 4 apps/drivers i have posted as they're freeware

It costs about $400 per year for a code signing certificate. Most freeware projects that want to support Vista x64 have setup Paypal style donation funds.

The utility noted doesn't actually alter the kernal, it just automatically sets the disabling to on when booting, much like if you hit F8. That's what it implies to me, anyway.

Just another quick question if you dont mind, im using x64 because i have 4GB Ram, my mobo is a Asus p5k-E and supports Memory Remapping feature, does enabling this allow a 32-bit OS like Xp/Vista32 to use the full 4GB Ram, or do the PCI devices still take up this space?

Trackmania works, it prompts you to go to the website to download the protection 64Bit drivers, easy to find via Google also :)

Edit as above :D Easy..

It should recover at least some of the "lost" memory.

As you have x64 I wouldn't worry about it.
