Yesterday I went to Watford Waterfield retail park with the other half to buy a load of things for our coming holiday. I accidently parked in a bay that happened to be a parent bay. I genuinely didnt realise before anyone starts I even checked when I got out of the car but my car was over the symbol so I didnt see it.

Anyway, when I got back I found a ticket on my windscreen. After reading it, I saw the reason was for parking in a parent bay, with no visible evidence of children.

So ok, I parked in the wrong area but there was not any visible signs that it was a parent parking bay apart from the icon that was under my car. There was no warning that parking in those bays are a £30 fineable offence and even if it was, how is no visible evidence of children admissable evidence. Hell I sometimes drive with my 5 year old niece in the back of my car so there isnt any evidence anyway.

So yes I was in the wrong but I cant see how they can get away with fining people without fair signing and warning. To me this is just thieving BS.

Well I went out earlier and picked up the ticket from the car when I got back. On the ticket it had two boxes ticked, one said parking in a disabled spot which I didnt initially see and the other was hand written and said, no visible evidence of children.

Rather confused as to what I was getting fined for I drove to Watford to see and when I got there I realised I was a complete and utter muppet. I unknowingly parked in a disabled spot so deserved the ticket, so will be paying the fine. I would like to say I wouldnt have parked there had I had known it was a disabled spot and neither me or the other half saw that it was. :o :(
