Just been upgraded to BT infinity broadband, was hoping the new routers wireless would reach my room over the other side of the house but no luck.

So been looking in to getting myself a pair so I can take full advantage of the new higher 40mb broadband of which i only usually only get 20-25mb.

The plugs come in 85mbps, 200mbps and 500mbps which ones are the right ones for my broadband speed ?

cheers guys

I wouldn't bother with the 85mbps and look at the 200mbps as a minimum as that should be enough to stream HD video content but I don't think the price difference between the 200 & 500 from Solwise is that big so no reason not to go for the 500.

I've got the Gigabit kit, the actual throughput is around 10MB/s (so closer to 100mbit speeds).

Every house is different though

So i should be looking for the 200 and 500 ones then, hopefully when gaming i will have a better ping my wireless either just loses connection or gets me kicked from games for excessive ping.

cheers for your help

I would stick with the 500 ones. I ahve the gigabit ones like bledd whcih work fine but I ahve heard that the gigabit ones can be more fussy due to their chipset. Belkin I think used the same chipset in their gigabit ones and I think withdrew them but dont quote me

I've been using Devolo dLAN 500 AV & Solwise500 Mbps AV,for connecting Sky boxes, found both very good.

Did try the Solwise gigabit, superb at times, but they were most uncooperative at other times. Solwise changed them for a pair of 500Mbps AV.

A lot of the problems I had, I thought was due to the state of the house wiring here, didn't realise there was a chipset issue with them.
