Hey guys, some 1 has pushed the middle bit of my speakers in..
i have these speakers

the middle bit? ( cone? ) has been pushed in anyway of getting it out.. i tryed hover but nout!

Yes hovering is quite difficult. The trick is to first raise your mind to a higher spiritual plane, then your body will levitate along with it... ;)

Failing that:

I think Blu-Tack is the normally recommended solution, the cone doesn't seem to be punctured. Just carefully stick a blob on and pull back out nice and gentle and it should pop out back to its original shape.

The next level would be to use a pin to coax it into position, but you do need to have reasonable dexterity and be very careful with that method.

...Finally, don't forget to take that biro in the pic and jam it into that certain 'Some 1" ;)

Doesn't matter, its just a dust cap, wont impact the sound at all.

thats not the point tho, it looks so out of place, i know they aint the best bose speakers but its all i can afford and i want them to look good!

thanks for the tips guys will try it!

I sometimes prefer to (temporarily) remove the grilles for that 'studio' look.

If the in-laws are coming round, I might put them back in place - it keeps the wife happy(er) and offers some protection from pesky meddling kids (if the cones aren't visible, they're less tempting to push in...)

Go on - admit it - we've all been tempted!

Looks like it's after some sellotape. I would try getting it less sticky by dabbing it with some cloth a few times first though.

Sorry couldn't resist suggesting that you're Better Of Selling 'Em ;)

And the good old 'no high or low, must be BOSE' :p

Now in seriousness, like others have said a bit of blutac tends to work quite well =)

well i brought my whole system for 130quid, and he wanted to sell it all together
so couldn't do much, i wanted some b&w's but money is tight plus i have got my driving lessons... but for 130quid i got
bose 301 series 3 speakers
marantz cd player cd63 mk2
rotel rb970bx
rotel pre amp rc970bx

For £130 you got a bargain, even if you threw the speakers in the skip. Which isn't a bad idea....

That CD player is a KI signature, you'd get more than your £130 back selling that alone. I've never been up on Rotel amps, but I know that they are pretty darn good. One day when you have more money definitely get some decent speakers, and some parafin as suggested.

I've never heard any Bose speakers, so can't comment on their quality - though it wouldn't surprise me if there was a certain amount of speaker snobbery around!

Being more positive, I'd suggest you keep them even when you do upgrade - perhaps for rear speakers if you upgrade to a 5.1 system.

That crystal Xbox you have will sound a lot nicer with DD5.1 - even disregarding the actual sound quality, the directional effects will be cool...

That's one of the benefits of a separates system, you can upgrade when your budget allows.
