Went to the local football match yesterday. turns out it was a local derby! Both teams were well up for it and tempers did frey a little with 1 player being sent off as well as an assistant manager. All in all it was a really good game. Below is some of the action i managed to capture.

constructive comments and critique always welcome.

Nice collection. I particularly like #4 (great capture, there's a lot going on) and #11 (although it looks a little green).

Some good captures there, covered the emotion of the scene well from what you have said of it. Nothing you can do about the backgrounds at these sort of venues as that would be my only comment about distraction in some of them.

i have now slightly editied the last one to remove the slight green cast from the players.

Good action shots.
Altough the above shots are fine in terms of colour and sharpness but I don't feel the sense of speed in the action.

Judging from the photos you posted, the players look like statue.

This photo was taken last year in the park. Not the best example but you can see the motion of the ball, the players and the action.

Indeed they will look a little statue like but thats because they are meant to be like that. they are freeze frams of the action, just like you would get in a newspaper for example. i didnt attempt any panning shots, but that is something i may try the next time i go ;)

Nothing wrong with your photo Antc but when all the shots you posted are same in terms of motion.

If you posted 1 photo only, I would have said great but cause you posted many it lacked the variety.

I like your statue shots better.

I think blurred ones just don't look professional and imo not that interesting.

Nice shots!

i agree with regard to the blurred ones, im not a huge fan myself. i might try some though see how they turn out but tbh i have never come across a panned football shot in a mag or newspaper.

Really nice shots but what I want to know is, what is Drogba doing moonlighting in No7, Chelsea won't be happy :D

thanks very much and rofl, i hadnt really noticed him lurking in the background :)
