Hi All,

Been messing about with this new rig that has got the following in it:

Core i7 920 2.66Ghz D0 (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366)
Gigabyte EX58-UD3R Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard
OCZ Gold 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel Kit
Akasa AK-967 Nero Direct Contact Heatpipe CPU Cooler
GeForce GTX 260 "216" 896MB
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA-II 32MB Cache
Corsair TX 650W ATX2.2 SLI Compliant PSU

now i have messed about with it and have managed to over clock to 4032 Mhz
BLCK 192 x 21
core volts 1.232
Memory is showing 576.0Mhz 8.8.8.20 FSB DRAM 2:6 1.50Volts
NB Feg 3072.1
temps sit around 42.39.42.37 idle and most i do is play a few games and temps sit around 51.47.46.48

have ran prime for a 10 mins and temps hit mid 70 and is stable not tried any longer and new rlly use pc to full load anyway.

i amd unsure as to what is ment to be normal stock for the ram
in bios it has 1066 then 1142 if i change it to 8 x and adjust the other clock to 18 it shows 1528 with volts of 1.64

it seems to run faster with the rqam set to the first option of 6 x 1124 1.50 V

Thank you for any advice you may have

Your RAM will run at the speed of the BCLK * RAM Multi - so if you are running BCLK of 192 and Multi x8 you'll get 1536MHz. To get the RAM to run at it's rated speed of 1600MHz you'll need to try to raise the BCLK to 200 and use a RAM Multi of x8 - BUT you might find you have to turn down the CPU's multiplier or raise CPU voltage slightly to keep it stable, and of course keep an eye on temps as you do so.

It's a bit of a balancing act really, getting the best blend of CPU speed / RAM speed / Temps can take a bit of trial and error till you get to a happy medium for your gear.
