hi guys,

ordered my macbook yesterday for delivery tomorrow or the day after, should be when the 4gb ram is arriving too :)

anyway, wanted to give a heads up about delivery times, i initially ordered a macbook with the mini-dvi to vga adaptor ticked on the mac spec, also ordered an apple keyboard... this was due to be delivered first week in december :(

i then had a thought... cancelled this order then put it through with the macbook added to the basket on its own, along with the keyboard again and the dvi adapter added as a separate item... the delivery estimate then got bought forward to the next few days due to this separation :)

bought the mini-dvi to vga from the apple site, and the mini-dvi to dvi from play.com since the apple shop was showing a 1-2 week lead time (I wanted both cuz i want the DVI for going to my 22" monitor and the VGA for my LCD telly downstairs...)

so all in all - can't wait :) - oh and i got the 14% HE discount too, and due to me being vat registered the 2.2GHz macbook, 4gig of RAM, keyboard and 2 DVI adapters has cost me £737 all in all ;) this is tax deductable too so the actual cost to me is gonna be around £570 - bargain of the century!!!

moral of the story... unless you really need otherwise, add the macbook to the basket with its off-the-shelf spec and do the upgrades yourself ;)

Indeed my work college just ordered a MBP and his has the same delivery time.

Mine was delivered with in 2 days of ordering.

The accessories they seem to use as a reson for slow delivery.

Ordered my MacBook and DVI adaptor on Sunday, got to wait till the 3rd of December for it to be delivered - just rang up and asked whether the wait was so long due to the DVI adaptor being added and she said yes. Had the option to cancel the order and order the MacBook on its own but as it's my GF who gets the HE discount it'd mean having to get her to ring up again and go through it all so I just left it. :(

Yep, when you order accessories they merge them in transit so you have to wait for two items to merge at one point. A very long way of doing it

innovative, exceptional market leaders at development... muppets when it comes to getting the product to the customer :)

Yep, if I could change anything about Apple, it would be the shoddy delivery service.

Or at least change the wording on the site regarding delivery..

They should give you a door-to-door guesstimate, not "Ships in 24hrs" .... "but it'll be there in 5 days" nonsense.
