Hey guys. For 5+ years I've had a 21 inch monitor and after buying my 970 GPU, i decided its time to upgrade my monitor.

I'm primarily a gamer, if that helps at all. My budget is £150-£250. I don't think my pc could handle 2560 x 1440, so i'll leave that idea until i know a little more.

There are so many monitors on the site, i wouldn't have a clue what to look for. All i can say is, 26+ inch is the goal.

Well since you're getting a Nvidia card I would get the cheapest 1080p g-sync you could find. Like this one below.

It controls the frame rates better to allow a smooth gaming experience. Basically, if you're getting 50-120 fps on a 144hz monitor, those frame rates will jump around a lot and cause screen tearing and stutters because the game doesn't respond well with the refresh rate.

G-Sync prevents this and stabilises the FPS to prevent this occuring to allow a smooth game. Its amazing! You'll notice the difference straight away.

If still unsure, google it, will have a more detail description :)

I noticed that G-sync monitor above is 24 inch. Is it really worth paying £250 for an extra 3 inches of monitor? I realize it has other benefits but uh, im not sure.

I went from 22" to 24" and seen a huge difference haha!

I actually thought the same as you at first but when I'm gaming, I'm sitting quite close to my screen (standard desk distance) and now I realise that a 27" would have been way too big.
