Hi peeps ,

i am looking to replace my current system (amd x2 5200 + , with asus crosshair mobo , ati radeon x1950 and 2 gigs of ddr2 crucial @ 800Mhz) for a bit more up to date version.I am thinking to go Intel this time.Budget is approx £800,- and i am only interested in the base unit.So the help i need is to decide to buy a new system , what CPU you guys recommend and if it would be better to wait a bit longer as i was told that new cpu's are on the way....i mainly use it for gaming , games such as dod/source , cod4 and more games in that genre...so please could anyone give me some advice ?

i am not a einstein btw so please keep it simple lol

cheers , Takeshi Kovacs

Use the search its been covered loads, but in short if your going Intel Asus P45 chiset bords with a E8400 or E8500 should be good start add ATI 4870 GFX card and is a very solid base to start on.

Id go for an E8X00 based system with a P45 mobo, 4gb ram. Like said earlier theres a ton of similar posts covering this. GL.
