Some advice needed.

Hi guys, just had a phone call off someone asking if I can have a look at their laptop. The problem they have is the audio connector isn't outputting sound correctly, she says if she fiddles with it, it comes and goes. I am guessing the connector is loose, was wondering if there was an option of some kind of audio-USB converter or connection available, rather than messing with the motherboard audio. I don't really want to be soldering. Is this a possibility?
